Digital Accessibility Sessions
To support campus-wide preparation for the new ADA Title II digital accessibility requirements, Coppin State University is offering ongoing Faculty/staff digital accessibility trainings throughout the semester.
These trainings are designed to support Faculty/staff in meeting their responsibilities related to digital accessibility and to document our collective progress toward compliance.
Why This Matters
Under the updated ADA Title II regulations, public universities are required to ensure that digital content and services are accessible. Participation in the trainings helps demonstrate good-faith effort, progress tracking, and institutional readiness.
More importantly, building accessibility into everyday work:
Reduces last-minute fixes and risk
Improves communication for everyone
Supports students, colleagues, and the public
How Participation Is Tracked
Attendance is recorded for all digital accessibility training sessions. Certificates are issued monthly based on participation.
Digital Accessibility Training Options
Coppin State University offers multiple training pathways to support Faculty and Staff learning, flexibility, and documentation.
Customized Division Training
Divisions may request customized digital accessibility training tailored to their Faculty/staff’s specific workflows and responsibilities. These sessions may be offered as:
Individual or small-group sessions
A series of shorter 1-hour sessions
Two (2) 2-hour face-to-face sessions
One half-day, face-to-face workshop
Participants recieve Certificates of Completion upon completion of the training.
Monthly Live Trainings
Faculty/staff may attend live campus-wide digital accessibility training sessions. These trainings are virtual.
Faculty/staff who complete four (4) live trainings are eligible to earn a Certificate of Completion.
Recordings + Verification
Faculty/Staff who are unable to attend live sessions may instead:
View recorded training sessions, and
Complete the associated assessment for each recording to verify participation.
Faculty/Staff who complete four (4) recorded trainings with assessments are also eligible to earn a Certificate of Completion.
This option ensures equitable access to training while supporting institutional documentation needs.
Option 4: Self-Paced Courses
Faculty/staff may complete a series of three self-paced digital accessibility courses, which build on one another from foundational concepts to practical application. This option allows everyone to learn at their own pace while gaining a structured understanding of accessibility expectations.
Fix-Your-Content Open Hours
In addition to training sessions, faculty/staff can register for Fix-Your-Content Open Hours, held Thursdays, for hands-on assistance with remediating specific documents or files.

These sessions are for guided support and problem-solving, not evaluation.
